Beat the BBQs with a compelling offer sent via SMS to your customers. Promote dining-in, take-out or catering for large parties.

Labor Day weekend is the last hoorah of the summer for everyone to get together with friends and family. If your restaurant is open for Labor Day, there are plenty of opportunities to reach customers with last minute offers and incentives to make the long weekend fun and filled with great food. Create text messages with confidence that your loyalty club will see the message while they’re out and about during the busy weekend with their phones, and possibly not within reach of a computer.

How can I increase business on a holiday with SMS Marketing? Try these simple tactics to attract customers all weekend long:

Promote your side dishes. Do you have great sides that would go well at a BBQ or cookout? Put together a package deal where customers can order delivery or take-out with your 3 best side dishes. Send a quick reminder in a text message to your customers letting them know your restaurant can provide a quick and easy finishing touch to their spread.

Create a stay-cation offer. Some customers may not have plans on Labor Day and will want to find a great place to dine on Monday. Let your customers know you’re open on Monday, since many of your competitors will likely be closed.  Mention in the SMS that customers showing the text will receive a complimentary appetizer or dessert.

Promote catering options. The weekend is a great opportunity to push catering for parties and cookouts. Send an SMS with a link to your catering menu on your website along with a special code word (i.e. Labor Day) to mention when placing their catering order to receive a bonus gift card or a percentage off orders placed over the long holiday weekend.

Offer lunch specials.  Are you close to shopping areas? Labor Day weekend is known for sales and in turn lots of people out and about shopping. Consider promoting your lunch menu or offering an end of summer lunch special to appeal to customers that are busy shopping during the weekend. Receiving a quick text message versus another Labor Day email will certainly stand out among the competition.

There are numerous ways to utilize SMS marketing to reach your guests through a simple message and small incentive. Try these methods out for the holiday weekend or future busy times when getting to your customers’ attention is key.
