The spring season is filled to the brim with great marketing opportunities for restaurants. Easter is on April 20th – let your guests know about your brunch. And Mother’s Day, this year on May 11, rivals Valentine’s Day as one of the busiest days for restaurants. But if you’re a savvy marketer you know you’ll want to save your cleverest campaigns for slower periods when demand isn’t as high. It’s those times that your restaurant’s unique brand can stand out from your competitors. SM3 Social Media and Email Specialist Courtnee Davis came up with a few fun promotions to try during spring lulls. Give one a try and tell us how it goes!
- Take Advantage of Tax Day – Whereas Cinco de Mayo is highly anticipated, Tax Day on April 15th is highly dreaded. But you can make it better! We’ve had great success with Tax Day campaigns in the past. Offer $10.40 off of lunch or dinner if guests can produce evidence they filed their taxes.
- Good bosses give gift cards – Did you know Administrative Professionals Week is April 21-27? It’s a great opportunity for executives to thank their hard-working staff. Market your gift card selection as a way for employers to treat their personnel to lunch. Or offer a special catered meal or a discount on large to-go orders to encourage the top dogs to provide lunch at their office.
- Get Into Spring Cleaning – Every Spring we’re encouraged clean out the clutter. You can do the same for your place, and engage your guests at the same time. Offer discounts on winter lagers or heavy soups with the promise of new menu items in the future. Your guests will love the discounts and you’ll build up anticipation and awareness for what’s coming.
With warmer weather, your guests will shake off their winter hibernation and head out far more often. Make sure you’re getting them into your place. Don’t be afraid to get creative. You never know if your fun, whimsical promotion may go viral!
