The holidays are upon us! Between Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve, November and December are a crucial time for restaurants. While people are out holiday shopping, they need to pick up a bite to eat – you should make sure your restaurant is available for their needs!
If you need to put together any last minute promotions, never fear. SM3’s E-Mail and Social Media Specialist Veronica Dunbar has ideas on how to drive guests through the door after they’re done walking in a winter wonderland.
- Take advantage of the pre-holiday evenings with a Check-In Special. Most families spend all day Thanksgiving cooking for their families – naturally they prepare by going out for dinner the night before! Drive sales by offering a special for customers who bring their friends and check in via FourSquare. You’ll get additional promotion when they advertise their presence on social media!
- Fill up that party room. If you have a party room, and haven’t booked a holiday party yet, don’t despair! Encourage guests to reserve party space by offering an incentive on your social media. Free champagne toast for New Year’s, anyone? Gift cards and discounted nosh could also work.
- Promote your gift cards. The holidays can be a stressful time, especially when customers don’t know what to get their friends or family. With a gift card, they can treat them to a nice meal. Encourage gift card purchases with promotions, such as offering a free $20 card with a purchase of $100 or more.
One of the most important things you can do during the holidays, of course, is to grow your list. Make sure to advertise your welcome offer for e-club members heavily. A growing list in November and December makes for healthy sales in January!
